For curious guitarists
You don’t have to be an advanced player to begin exploring jazz or improvisation. We can start from a familiar blues progression, a simple melody, or a handful of expressive notes, and grow from there.
If you already play, we can work on deeper harmony, chord voicings, rhythmic phrasing, transcription, repertoire, and applying ideas in musical situations.
What we can study
The material is adapted to your level and your favorite musicians.
- Blues vocabulary and phrasing
- Jazz standards and chord-melody concepts
- Improvisation over changes
- Voice leading, chord extensions, and harmony
- Rhythm, swing feel, and ensemble awareness
- Songwriting, arranging, and original composition
Learning from a working musician
My own musical work brings together jazz, blues, rock, folk, and contemporary improvisation. I earned an MM at NYU Steinhardt and have performed in a range of professional settings. I bring real music-making into lessons, not just isolated exercises.
